Professor in the Department of Computer Science of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Doctor in Information Science, the University of Pittsburgh, United States. Adjunct researcher at the Millennium Institute Foundational Research on Data, principal researcher at the National Center for Artificial Intelligence Research (CenIA) and associate researcher at the Millennium Institute iHealth.

His areas of interest are recommendation systems, intelligent interfaces, and information visualization. He currently directs the SocVis research laboratory.
